How Computers Work / Exploring PC Hardware

This is the first class in the Computer Hardware Technology Series. You will be introduced to the individual parts of the computer (memory, hard drive, processor, expansion cards, etc..). We will discuss how each one works, and exactly what each one does. This will provide a foundation for selecting upgrades to your computer, and for further diagnostic and maintenance classes.

Prerequisites: None

Basic PC Maintenance

Designed to be the second class in the Computer Technology Series, this class builds on basic understanding of how the computer works to help you better understand how to take care of your computer, and keep it running in top contition. We cover taking care of the equipment, backing up and protecting your data, and keeping the software working well.

Prerequisites: How Computers Work, or a basic understanding of computer hardware.

Basic Diagnostics and Repair for your Computer

As the third class in the Computer Technology Series, this class looks at the areas of a computer that are most likely to fail. We examine how to figure out where failures take place, and how to resolve them.

Prerequisites: Basic PC Maintenance, or a basic understanding of computer hardware and software.

Upgrading Your Computer

Interested in expanding or updating your current computer? In this class we review what options may exist for upgrading your computer, how to purchase the parts, and how to install them.
